Our Executives

Our day-to-day operations are entrusted to our Executive Directors who are assisted by a management team of experienced key Executive Officers.

Gan Hon Guan is our Group Technical Director. He has headed our Technical division since 2001 and is responsible for the strategic planning and business development of the division. He first joined the Group in 1990 as a Service Engineer. In Nov 1994, he was promoted to the role of Managing Director of QT Instruments. Prior to joining the Group, he was a Service Engineer with Singapore Electronics & Engineering Ltd from 1988 to 1990. He holds a Diploma in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Singapore Polytechnic.

Cheah Hon Kheong is our Head of Manufacturing and oversees the manufacturing activities of Biomedia Laboratories, such as production efficiency, product quality and product development. He is also responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing of pre-poured media of Bloxwich and Biomedia Laboratories and the training of sales and support staff. He started his career in 1998 as a Product Specialist at Bloxwich and was promoted to Sales Manager in 2000. In 2002, he was transferred to SPD Scientific as a Sales Manager and was tasked with heavy responsibilities as the Business Manager of Bloxwich in 2004 before assuming his current role as the Head of Manufacturing in Jan 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Biotechnology from Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Christopher Tay Leng Kee is the Managing Director of Bio-Focus, responsible for the overall business operations of Bio-Focus. He first joined Bio-Focus in 1991 as a Product Specialist and was subsequently given the opportunity to head the Diagnostics Sales Division Team to promote our products in the healthcare market. He was promoted to Product Manager in 1995 and Sales Manager in 1998 before assuming his current role as Managing Director of Bio-Focus in 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Food Technology from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

Hor Boon Kim is the Business Manager of Biomedia Laboratories. She is responsible for the management of our pre-poured media production of Biomedia Laboratories. Prior to joining the Group, she was a Medical Laboratory Technologist with the Malaysian Ministry of Health from 1991 to 1997 where she served hospitals and their departments: Klinik Kesihatan Padang Sebang in Alor Gajah, Malacca, Jabatan Mikrobiologi Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, Nasional Blood Bank Centre in Kuala Lumpur and the Department of Haematology and Biochemistry at Kuantan Hospital in Pahang. She holds a Medical Laboratory Technology certification from the Institute for Medical Research (Ministry of Health), Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
